Have you guys seen The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters? This documentary is easily one of the best movies I have seen in the last year or two. It’s about 2 guys competing to set the world record for the high score in Donkey Kong. The plot may sound stupid but I promise this movie is amazing. Go rent or buy it now!!!
So in the movie they mention the fact that most Donkey Kong players never get past the “Third Elevators” stage. A bit of background here: In the game you play 4 different boards: the barrel stage, the elevators stage, the pie factory then the rivet stage. If you beat the rivet stage the game repeats itself and you’re now on level 2. So, the when you get to the elevators stage for the third time that board is known as “Third Elevators”.
